On Wednesday, July 25th, McLeish Orlando students and staff participated in the Lawyers Feed the Hungry program. Lawyers Feed the Hungry is run by the Law Society of Ontario. This program has been taking place in Toronto for twenty years, providing hot meals for those in need. Lawyers Feed the Hungry offers dinner on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and breakfast on Thursdays and Sundays. In one sitting, Lawyers Feed the Hungry serves between 300-500 meals, illuminating a serious hunger problem in Toronto.
The Lawyers Feed the Hungry program offers a unique opportunity for those in the legal community to give back. Volunteers include legal assistants, lawyers, judges, and everyone in between. Involvement varies from serving coffee to donating the complete costs of a meal. McLeish Orlando has participated in Lawyers Feed the Hungry by serving and sponsoring a meal each summer since 2014. As with previous years, this event was a great success and deeply enjoyed by all McLeish Orlando participants. This year, McLeish Orlando staff served 440 meals. Thank you to Lawyers Feed the Hungry for having us, we look forward to volunteering with you again!
