Slip and Fall
As written in the “Occupier’s Liability Act” of Ontario, property owners, managers and occupiers are legally responsible for maintaining their property and ensuring its safety for those using it. Because of this responsibility, if you have slipped or fallen on someone else’s property due to dangerous conditions, you may be entitled to compensation. Dangerous conditions resulting in a slip and fall accident can include:
- Absence of handrails/standard assistance devices
- Lack of lighting
- Uneven or poor flooring/carpeting
- Ice or water
- Dangerous stairways
Slip and fall accidents are often sudden and unexpected, and can result in any number of injuries that can be serious and life altering. In these claims, evidence is important, and knowledge of the impact a fall has on an individual’s body is necessary in examining how to pursue a particular case. At McLeish Orlando, our experience in dealing with slip and fall cases is extensive, and we understand how to successfully determine who a responsible party is in the case of a slip and fall injury, and how to obtain compensation for our injured clients.
