McLeish Orlando Sponsors BIAD’s Brain Injury: Up Close and Personal

Join BIAD (Brain Injury Association of Durham) and McLeish Orlando LLP for a day centered around the impacts of brain injury on the family unit, and the challenges that come along with it when navigating the legal system!

Learn from a group of speakers who will share their personal and professional experiences of how to cope with day-to-day life after a brain injury. Strategies will be shared with brain injured individuals, as well as their families and friends, to help manage their new “normal”. Speakers include:

  • Brigitt Degeus, Registered Social Worker
  • Lindsay Charles, McLeish Orlando Lawyers
  • Tonya Collins, a spouse of a brain injured individual
  • Joan Buchanan, a mother of a brain injured individual
  • Natasha Byrdine, brain injury survivor
  • Shane Collins, brain injury survivor

Throughout the day there will be breakout groups for survivors, their spouses, their children, and their friends, with the goal of validating each other’s experiences dealing with the many facets of brain injury.

This event is of particular interest to brain injury survivors and their families and friends, as well as health care professionals working in the ABI community. We invite health care professionals to bring their colleagues and clients to attend this informative and rewarding event.

The event takes place on April 12, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Jubilee Pavilion in Oshawa, Ontario. This conference is FREE of charge. Space is limited. Register here.

Please contact Lindsay Charles if you are interested in sponsoring or acting as a facilitator during group discussions.

Please note, this event is only for people 15 years of age and older.
