J. Patrick Brown
Patrick Brown has been practicing for over 18 years and has dedicated his career to helping those who suffer serious and catastrophic personal injuries as well as those families who have lost a loved one due to the fault of another. He has cases throughout
Victims' Advocate
As a victims' advocate he has fearlessly championed the rights of the injured in both jury and non jury trials. His successes include a 4.5 million dollar trial award against the Ministry of Transportation for its failure to keep a provincial highway in a proper state of repair. In the Roberts v Morana decision, Justice J. O'Brien stated "I have not seen a case which has been better prepared or presented than this one." Patrick recently obtained an 8.6 million award for a gentleman who suffered a brain injury due to the negligence of a bad driver.
Patrick was also successful trial counsel for a five time Olympic athlete who suffered serious injuries following a car crash. In the Ishoy v. Abreau decision, Justice MacKinnon stated " Plaintiff's counsel presented their case in a focused, well-organized fashion. Their trial preparation resulted in well-prepared and focused witnesses The charts, aerial photographs, medical illustrations and demonstrative evidence both assisted the jury in understanding the medical and liability issues ...Mr. Brown was lead counsel and has twelve years of experience. His closing address to the jury was dramatic, focused and effective."
Patrick has had a wealth of cases where he has represented the interest of children, the elderly and over the last several years cyclists who have been killed or injured.
Legal Advocate
After serving on their Board for many years, in 2008/2009 Patrick was elected President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association which is the largest personal injury legal association in
Safety Activist
In addition to his legal practice, Patrick also devotes his free time as an activist for the promotion of safety. He is committed to preventing injuries and death by taking proactive measures to ensure accidents are eliminated. He currently sits as a Director for the Ontario Safety League which is a non for profit organization dedicated to ensuring safety comes first in

Patrick has had articles published in legal magazines and has authored chapters on personal injury in the Canada Law Books. In addition to lecturing at a number of hospitals in

Patrick has appeared regularly on television and talk radio as a commentator on issues involving the rights of accidents victims and issues involving auto insurance and safety.
Patrick has been requested and provided submissions to the provincial government and attended at Queen's Park regarding legislative reform as it relates to the rights of injured accident victims and families who have lost loved ones.
